5 Posh Portland Mansions Perfect for the $1.3B Powerball Winner

The $1.3 billion Powerball winner has come forward to claim the prize.

The winner reportedly purchased a single ticket at a Plaid Pantry store in the Cully neighborhood of Portland, OR. The winner’s name will probably be announced once security measures and vetting have been completed. With a few exceptions, winning players in Oregon cannot remain anonymous.

In the meantime, lotto sleuths on Reddit/r/Portland have been speculating about this winner’s identity.

The jackpot amount will be about $330 million after taxes if the winner takes the lump sum. If taken as a 30-year annuity, the amount is $705 million. In either scenario, the winner will easily have their pick of Portland’s posh luxury real estate market.

From a real estate perspective, it’s a great time to buy in the Portland area, where the median list price is a modest $525,000, down 2.6% from last year. In the city’s luxury markets, the median list price tops $1 million—which is a drop in the bucket of this Powerball’s winnings.

So which house will this latest lotto winner pick? Here are our bets below, five properties fit for a newly minted billionaire.
